Neptune                                              Saturn                                       Earth

Jupiter                                                  The Sun                              The whole solar system
So I had an extra credit project we could do anything.  I chose to make Christmas ornaments of the solarsystem.  So I did the sun and the 8 classical planets.  I had this clay I had made before so I took it and made the shapes (Circles)  I dyed some of the clay yellow for some of the planets and the sun.  Then I needed to paint them, but I didn't have any paint or money so I used food dye and nail polish.  It worked quite well. I just smeared the dye on top of the clay instead of working it in.  For jupiter I mixed red polish with yellow food dye for some of the stripes.  I was totally out of red food dye for mars so I used nail polish.  Lucky for me I have 2 colors of red polish and was able to do details.  My favorite is Neptune.  My least favorite is Mercury.  My favorite in real life is Jupiter just to clarify.

100...

So remember when you were in grade school and on the hundreth day you would have to bring 100 of something to count? Well I do. This is my 100th post I just realized. And actually it's just the 100th that's going up and staying up. Because I shall admit that I have psted things let them stay up for a couple hours and then taken them down again.

Anyways Wow. I don't even know where to begin or what to talk about or anything. It's all too much for me.

I'm not going to be in school next semester. I have to get a job and probably work more than full time so that I can earn tuition for another year. Hopefully if everything goes well this year I'll get a scholorship sometime in the future and financial aid.

I wanted to move because the rent here is too high for me really. I work to earn rent pretty much rent and food. But everything else is just as high except Wyview which I would live in but you have to have at least 9 credits, which is almost $2000 so why wouldn't I just go to school full time if I was going to do that. Wyview is also in a better location for working too. It's closer to the mall, restaurants, hotels and other such places where as where i live right now it's at least a 15 min bike ride. And When it's snowy out I'm not riding my bike.

I'm not riding my bike right now anyways because its crap and almost got me killed the other night.

So I was riding back from Tom's Hap Birt Party Sat night. It was around 11:30pm so there was a decent amount of cars on the road but not very heavy traffic. I was riding on the sidewalk because that's how I roll, deal with it. Anyways I was coming to an intersection and then the flashing hand stopped flashing so I applied the brakes...or I tried to my brakes didn't take and I rolled out into the street. You know how when something scary happens you lose all your common sense? Happens to me all the time, not that I have much to begin with. Anyways so instead of getting off my bike and going back to the sidewalk (as I wasn't too far int the road) I tried to turn on my bike which puts me in the middle of the intersection where three cars came wizzing by honking their horns and making ugly faces. Like I don't know I'm in deep right now thank you. Actually at the time it was scary but the one girl who drove by gave me this face from this f-minus comic and it made me laugh so hard. It's the one from yesterday where the little girl wants the doll. When you think about it it was quite funny. Well I'm safe now anyways.

Tom let me wear his coat home because it had longer sleeves and it was freezing outside. When he and Ethan walked me to my bike they were both like "There's frost on your seat" And then Tom wiped it off. Ethan offered to sit on it so it wouldn't be cold when I sat on it. They are nice fellows. Perhaps I should have let him sit on it because when I did I was like "AH That's cold" As I was riding away Tom was like "Please be safe I'm calling Kelin to get your bike fixed" I think I shall let him call Kelin now. Tom hates it when I ride my bike because since I crashed it twice this summer it's quite broken. If my basket isn't on the handle bars won't stay up and they move when the basket is on at the slightest touch. Sometimes while I'm riding my chain falls off. Other times my brakes don't work. But It's an adaventure. What can I say I'm a thrill-seeker that's what I do, seek thrills.

Kelin is Tom's friend who offered to fix my bike for me. Also my friend Robbie from my ward said he would fix it for me also. I will make brownies for whoever does it so perhaps that will get them to do it.

So On Sunday I had to give the closing prayer in Sacrament meeting and I was really nervous. So I was standing there saying my prayer and I almost fell over. I know I'm the only person who could trip while standing in one place. But everyone's eye's were closed so I think I'm good. Except then I was trying no tto laugh since I was so embarrased almost falling over and my roommate Kelsey said she looked up at me and I was grinning really big. Oh well.

After church my old FHE dad invited us to his house in Alpine for dinner. Only Kelsey and I went (which is a story I'd have to tell you in person depending on who you are) and it was fun. His house is hugenormous, and beautiful. His family is really nice. It was like his whole extended family too and there were cute little babies and toddlers. Also some other people from our ward were there. We had ribs, mashed potatoes, sweet potaotes, salad, and coeslaw. I also had orange cream soda twas quite an amazing meal. And for desert there was apple pie with ice cream.

But Kelsey and I had to leave early because we were throwing Natalie a surprise Party at another guys house in our ward. So we left around 7 and Robbie took us. We had to stop by Tom's apt so i could give him his coat back and pick up my baking supplies that I had left there from making the cakes for his party. He couldn't talk. It was sad.

The party was a success there were boys and girls and surprises and cake. So it was good. I talked a lot. More than I ever have before and I pretty much think it was because I was tired. I was definately just blathering to these two boys for like 2 hours. And it was nothing like word vomit just whatever I felt like saying. I mean nothing bad really just weird random stories I'm sure they didn't even care about. And they were probably thinking why doesn't she just shut up and I tried but they didn't say anything or if they did it would fizzle and I would start talking again. It was, in Ethan's words, no good.

In the dating scene I have been on two dates in the past couple weeks, which if you know me you know that's something. And they were with the same person and he wants to do something again this week. Yeah ask me about those and the situation in person because this post is getting long.

In other news, I wish hearts were like livers. Livers are great because they regenerate themselves but hearts don't when you get your heart broken it's just crumbled and it takes a long time to put it back together and I'm sure there's always that one piece ou'll never find. Kelli broke my heart yesterday when whe told me Santa wasn't real.

School...

School is going well

I got a 97% on a test the other day...well the multiple choice part I don't know about the essay portion.

I think I have all a's or b's except in stupid anthropology because my stupid ta I probably have a c but I can rewrite the paper. So that's good but I have another one due next week and I can't get through the book it's so boring. Also I have no idea what I'm supposed to write about and the ta isn't very helpful as she couldn't even figure out how to write a thesis for the next paper.

I have to write a paper for my living with plants class too but I don't know what the results of our experiment mean exactly because they were very messed up. Extremely so I don't know how I'm supposed to write a paper on a flawed experiment...whatev if the TA is grading it he probably won't even read it like our tree keys...

Astronomy, the only class I'm in for my major right now, is fun I really enjoy it. ANd it's way easy. I"m going to make a movie for an extra credit project about a star named Lucky and go through the life of a star and have the background music be Lucky by Britney Spears. I think it will be grand and I'll post it here.

Family History is way easy except the tests because you have no idea what youre supposed to focus on when you're studying for them. Hes like all the lessons, the chapters from the book, the extra readings, the assignments, the workshops. And when you ask him for what to focus on from the chapters he won't tell you because he doesn't want to give anyone an unfair advantage but it's like this is a 2 credit class we shouldn't be spending 5 hours a day studying for it.

Student development is easy except we have a group project coming up and I'm nervous about that I still don't know anyone in that class and I hate group projects

I think I should work in a morgue because then it doesn't matter if the people around me get my sense of humor they're dead.

Oh yeah no one ever gets it. So then people just think I'm weird. I have a really dry like desert kind of sense of humor and people always think I'm being serious and they give me these looks and are like "Oh that's cool." so I've stopped correcting them and saying "Oh I'm just joking." Because I do I really want to have to warm people up to me, if they are too weird not to think I'm funny they can talk about me after I leave the room with everyone else who didn't. Mean while the lone person who is laughing at my comments will relize how amazing I am and persue friendship. It always helps if I have someone there who gets it when I meet new people cuz then they'll laugh and sooner or later everyone will catch on.

I'm ok with people who only part get my humor though.

I mean very few people could laugh at all my jokes,

There are people thought that just don't get it at all and get all offended all the time and I won't list them but they should learn I'm just joking. A lot of the time there will be a group of people and someone will say sorry for something that really they didn't do anything wrong and I'll be like "Wow now we all hate you." Obviously a joke but some people don't get it and they all give me these looks like "wow you're a jerk" and tell the person "I don't hate you don't worry" sincerely.

I'm like seriously so then I have to be all like "I was just kidding you know" and usually they are laughing at what I said and are like "I know"

seriously

I don't know how this changed from school to my sense of humor but there ye be

Single-minded to the point of recklessness...

Do you ever let one thing eat away at you? I do it all the time.

Last night I was single-minded to the point of recklessness

I let that one thing eat away at me and it made me so angry and sad and I just couldn't take it any more

and I did something reckless that I kind of regret now

And the funny thing was while I was going on my rampage I was thinking to myself "You're going to really regret this later" I was right

Good thing that thought stopped me from totally destroying everything.

What did you do? That's what you're wondering

I deleted someone completely from my phone, deleted all of our wall posts to eachother on facebook, even some pictures off of facebook, untagged myself in all the pictures of both of us on facebook, went through my photo album and threw away all the pictures of that person or pictures that reminded me of them.

I contemplated totally deleting them off my friend list and being done with it forever

I told you it was really reckless.

I don't think they even deserve it

I think this was the outcome of bottling my emotions up for years and never having the nerve to talk about what's bothering me

If I would talk to the person then they would know and would could talk it out but instead I kill myself inside with the idea that i don't even know if it's true.

I's like that line in the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movie where Bridget talks about how she is singleminded to the point of recklessness

Also that line where she says she's obsessed and as we all know obsessed girls can not be held responsible for their actions

Although she left out the part about having to deal with the consequences

Something Interesting

So here is somethign fun to do that wastes time also when you're sick.

Go to imdb.com and look up an actor or actress you think you've seen a lot of movies that they've been in. You may be surprised by your results. When I originally did this I thought I had seen more of Will Smiths movies than anyone. But I've only seen 7 of his. He hasn't made that many though so it might be interesting to do it by percentage also.

The highest I got was Adam Sandler with 14 of his movies. weird I know. I got 10 Johnny depp movies and Jim Carey was up there too, which I found weird considering my mom doesn't like him.

I decided though that probably I've seen John Wayne more than anyone because my dad would always watch westerns on Sat mornings, I just don't know all the names of those movies same with James Stewart and maybe Clint Eastwood too.

I bet Tyler will get Sean Connery with the most movies because of James Bond and a lot of Sean's other movies like Darby O'Gill and the Little People and Indiana Jones.

My least that we checked was Will Ferrall with 3. It's weird because I thought I'd seen a lot of his.

Even if you've only seen a movie once you've still seen it so it counts. I think that's why Adam Sandler had so many. Coneheads was one of his movies I don't remember that movie hardly at all just that I saw it on tv or something like that a gazillion years ago.

I thought it was interesting.

bleg

SO I am sick I laid in bed all day with a splitting headache and wishing someone would come with a needle to pop the baloon that I feel is ever expanding inside my head. I think I got sick from the Football game. It was the HOmecoming game so I had to go. We won 21-3 so it was a good game. But I wasn't very into it because I could feel the cold coming honestly I was passively watching it.
After the game I went with Jenessa, her bf Dustin, his sister DeAnne(?), her bf Bowen, and Tom to Los Hermanos (?) some Mexican food place on Center street. It was good but definately not real mexican. Since it was the day after my birthday Dustin snuck off and told the waiter it was my birthday. That was nice. They came and sang and screamed like mexicans and gave me fried ice cream. It had whipped cream and a cherry ontop. I don't like cherries so I asked who wanted it and Tom said he did but then he was like no never mind I don't like cherries. He had never had one before so he had licked it and decided he didn't. and it was funny. Then I made him try the whipped cream to tell me if it was cool whip or real whipped cream. He didn't know so I had to try it and it was cool whip so I liked that and I ate it. Then I let everyone try the ice cream except Jenessa because she would die. At first Tom didn't want to but I made him. and he liked it. It was because there was coconut on the outside fried to the icecream. And he didn't know if he liked ice cream. He decided he did. So I let him eat the most because I don't like coconut. He said he was trying to eat the coconut for me so I thought that was sweet of him. I ate more of the icecream though. It was a good night.
Then we went back to Dustin's where we played catch phrase. Boys against girls. I think the girls dominated or it was a tie I can't remember because I was really tired.
Then I went home.
Before the game I went to the bookstore and bought my self a birthday present. A shirt and undershirt I thought I deserved it.
And on the way to the game I ran into my friend Jared who I met in my summer ward. So that was good.
It was a good weekend minus today because when you are sick you seem to think of all the worst possible things. But I still don't feel better so I called work and left a message saying I might not come in and we'll see. Which is unfortunate because I don't like missing work. It makes me feel like a loser all day.
Um anyways I did create some questions about my life this weekend too especially Sat. So it was good. Nothing that can't be answered or too trivial. Some have depressing answers or complicated ones. But whatev you know. it's ok. I learned some things about myself too. Or just reaffirmed the things I already knew, I suppose so I'll have to figure out what to do about that. SO anyways I need to go back to studying.

Oh and in case you were wondering...

Tom and I broke up. Or we're on a break I guess is the correct phrasing of that. And it's because he's going on a mission and I need to date other people. Those are the only reasons you need to know. Please don't ask me about it because I don't want to talk to you about it.

Sorry this is mean.

But some people are too nosey for their own good.

But I'm usually not a mean person I'm just having a bad week.

Things That I don't want to hear right now

Mostly I just want to say that people judge too much. And jump to conclusions too much. What may be easy for you, could be like climbing a mountain to some one else. A big mountain, like Everest. So don't just assume that some one can just change because you say "It's easy" or "Just do it" or "Well, you have to" Because no, they don't. Let them do it in their own way in their own time. Like Sister Hansma said in the Family History Library "Anything that's worth while takes time." So there.
And back to the judging thing... if you don't know the details, or especially if you don't know the person, don't judge. I mean, sometimes don't you ever do anything you might be ashamed of. It doesn't mean you're a bad person and in the end you don't have the same goals as everyone else. It just means you messed up. But that's the great thing about the atonement is it lets you get back up and keep progressing and moving forward. you don't know what that person's situation is. What they've done, what they're doing, etc, and you don't need to know. Especially if you aren't very close to them. What you can do is show love and support. Just live how you know you're supposed to and trust in the Lord. this isn't coming out how I want it to. My point is not to judge. Don't think you know better or what is supposed to happen or ... ugh hopefully from my scattered thoughts you can pick up why you shouldn't judge. I'll try to explain more but I've never been great at explaining things.

Every one's situation is unique to themselves. I think that's a way Heavenly Father shows his love for us is by giving us all trials and tribulations that are for us. Like he wasn't just like "I'll give Asia a problem with porn and America a problem with coveting." No he went with each of us and gave us what it was we could each handle and trials that could bring us closer to him individually. I think it's amazing. That's a lot of people.

There maybe that's why you should just love others and not judge. And if you are judging maybe you should pray for help to stop and stop talking condesendingly (?) to me about who you are judging because quite frankly I'm sick of it. And the end.

My Book List

So I was working in a library this summer and I saw all these books that I wanted to read. So I decided to start a list of books to read before I die. But now I want more. SO I want you guys to give me your suggestions of books to read. It can be anything, from children's books to classics. I like biographies also so I really do mean anything. Or if you like an author tell me them too and I'll check out some of their books. Even activity kind of books. maybe I'll do the activities, or recipe books. Really I just like books. I just need to get a library card because as we all know having fun isn't hard when you've got a library card.

"And that's about it."

So Lindsey made me want to tell more funny stories. She told me to tell the one about when Tom went to her apt.

This was before we were dating. Lindsey was having her Pumpkin Party and so I made a pumpkin pie for it. But Lindsey lived far away from me. I lived in Wyview which is by the football field, and she lived at 700N. And unfortunately it took me all day to make the pie. Because it wouldn't cook. But in the end it was good so whatever. But it wasn't done until after dark. And I was going to walk the pie over that night so it would be there because in the morning I was going to Tom's badminton match and then there was Lauren's bridal shower. So I needed to take it over the day before. Anyways so I called Tom and asked him to walk with me over there so I wouldn't be alone. He said yes because he liked me "And that's about it" It's about a 40 min walk especially with Tom and a pie. Tom likes to walk slower and I didn't want to drop the pie. So we finally get there. Lindsey's roommate Aubrey has a boy back in her room. Lindsey doesn't know what to do. So Tom goes,"Do you go to BYU?" they say "Yeah" "Do you know the honor code?" [no response] except Aubrey looked confused I guess because she's deaf and didn't hear what Tom said so her friend had to tell her. Then I guess they scowled at him. Anyways, then we were just sitting there talking, and her other roommate came home. she was sitting at her computer doing something I don't even know. So I know Tom has to get back and take a quiz so I kept asking him if he wanted to go so he could do it. so Lindsey's roommate decides that she should yell at Tom for making me leave and that he should just go home and they could give me a ride home. I was like no you don't understand. I'm the one asking him he's not saying anything. It was weird. Also Tom put on this wig that looked really dub that I had gotten to use at football games. and we were going to leave but he wouldn't take it off so I refused to walk across Provo with him wearing that. That's when she yelled at him too to just leave without me. It was just a funny situation. When we finally left sans the wig, Tom said he didn't really like Lindsey's roommates. and the whole situation was really awkward. Later he told me that he also felt awkward because he thought Lindsey knew that he liked me. ANd I was like oh Tom that was obvious to everyone. HAHA it was funny.
I'm telling you a funny story because lindsey is whining at me. She keeps doing it. Now she's laughing at nothing. She's weird.

One time when Tom and I were doing our laundry and this girl in our ward came in. Let me describe this girl to you. She is dumb. "And that's about it." No really she's just one of those people who thinks she's way super spiritual she's a "holier than thou" type. So she was dating this guy in our ward. He is actually really cool but he had just left on his mission. So Tom says to her "So are you going to wait for Chase?"
"Well not officially," she whispers back because that's how she talks,"But in my heart I'm waiting for him. I want to go on a mission so he has to wait for me too."
I at this point am trying not to laugh because she is so dumb.
"Oh that's nice." says Tom
When she left we both started laughing.
The real funny part is that now shes engaged. Apparently to a guy she's only seen 8 times before but whatever.

Sometimes we lie to ourselves...

So I agree with Lindsey so far this summer has had good moments but overall has sucked like a dyson vaccuum.
Sometimes things just don't go as planned, but it's all about making orange juice with your lemons right? And leave everyone wondering how you did it.
That's why I'm trying to break my shy shell. Let me tell you it's not easy nor do I like it.
Imagine you've never really had a good conversation with anyone besides good friends. Now you suddenly have to. Not fun
I know what you're thinking, how did you get good friends with out conversing with them first. Don't ask me God just loves me I guess and sent these great people to me. We were just suddenly good friends and that's always how it's happened with me.
I call it the kindergarten effect. Cuz you know when you're little that's how you become friends with people you meet someone on the playground and you guys are just bff's.

Anyways, it's also hard to do because I work three jobs. But don't worry I'll make enough for tuition. so that's good. But I don't get to go to ward activities and they've stopped telling me about fhe. Which is a bad idea cuz that's just kinda rude. Tom never gave up on the people who wouldn't come. He went to their apartments and asked them to come pretty much everyweek or called them. One girl came once or twice and trevor hardly ever came. but he tried.

yeah...

India Jones

I'm going to be an archaeologist I decided. I was a bit nervous about this decision because that meant traveling lots and being away from my family (when I'm married and stuff) But then I realized that I could also work in a museum. So I would still like to travel though and dig and stuff. But how did I come to this decision you are asking. It's so different from the Electrical Engineering course I was pursuing when I first came here. So here's the story:

I was worrying about school this coming fall and life in general. I decided my inability to choose a career stems from when I was younger and people telling me I could be whatever I want. Ok it's true, I can, but anyone who knows me my biggest hugest flaw is making choices. Not the moral ones, but everything else I'm indefferent about. When I say I don't care I really don't. If you put three flavors of ice cream in front of me and tell me I can have only one, they will be all melted before I make my choice. So I have all these career choices to make. What whould I do? Engineering, teaching, archaeology, business woman, etc. I even considered english for a very brief momnet in time. So that is how you know how confused I was about it all. So I decided to go down the list of majors BYU has and pick one. Because apparently you have to have one declared by the end of your sophomore year which is this coming december.

So anyways I sit down to look at them all and Tom calls so I made him help me. We're going down the list I read him a major and he tells me yes or no. But then I see something interesting Anthropology: Archaelogical emphasis I didn't even know BYU had that. That seemed so interesting to me. I said I could be the next Indiana Jones but Tom and Jenessa said I would have to be the girl version (India). I continued down the list but I kept that one in my mind. When I got to history Tom said yes "Why?" I asked "Because you love history." Well that's true I do love history but I love science too.
the hotness of Harrison Ford-------->

And I had this thought what is archaeology exactly? It's the study of ancient cultures isn't it? That's history right (ancient cultures) and it's science too because there is lab work and hypothesising and those things. SO I decided archaeology would be combining things I love plus I get to dig in the dirt!!

I don't know I think it would be a wicked sweet awesome job. And I would have the best career on my kids career day at their school unless the kid with the astronaut for a dad is in my kids class...

Even if I don't really ever make it into the field (which cross your fingers that doesn't happen) I get to learn all this cool stuff about archaeology and I could do it as a hobby. Plus I just get to learn which I love, I just hate the homework. Or I could also take some paleontology classes and go into that. Because they are related a bit but not the same They work together but they study different things. So Anyways be happy I've decided.

Cool Rider

Tell me where the title of this post is from and I'll give you a hug the next time I see you. Yep I know wow.
After work today: Take off my dumb jeans and put on my turquise soffe shorts. And take off on my bike with Jenessa close behind. I put my bike in 4th gear to start out, because this is for exercise and a nice liesurly ride around Provo.
We are the cool riders of Brick House East....

LOLOLOLOLOL That was funny. I like it I should make us shirts.
Anyways, Jenessa and I decided we would start riding our bikes in the morning for an hour. So today we started that. Only we went for and hour 45 min. But see it was totally worth it. We rode along the Provo River on the trail there. And we went all the way to Utah Lake State Park. It was sweet. The river was really pretty and the trees and things. I rode the whole thing in 5th practically. I think everyone should go there at least once in there life and walk, bike, or blade along the trail. There was so much summer snow fall with all the cottonwood trees. And there are three parks along it. Also when you cross the highway on the other side in a tree along the river there is a swing on one of the trees. It's so cute. AnywaysWe decided if we keep this up we get to buy new outfits for riding our bike in the morning. So all in all we rode about 13 miles. Probably more.
I'm going to have the best legs ever.

Snail On a Turtle riding Molasses in January

Here is how my day started: The first thing I remember is wondering how I got my phone in my hand or why I woke up. I looked in my phone and I had gotten a pix message with no picture. But that didn't wake me because I got it at 2 in the morning which means it had to be from Tom. Then my alarm went off and I looked and it was my 4:30 alarm which meant I had grabbed my phone in my sleep to turn off my first alarm. That is why I have more than one alarm.
Anyways when I got to work everything started out normal. I was sleepy and didn't wan to work but I do anyways and I work fast. So does Jenessa. And we use our brains too. The other girl we work with is slower than molasses in January and isn't really awake when she gets there I guess because she got the inside door wedged shut with the vacuum cord. It was really a funny situation. I walked out of the custodial closet and she was standing at the elevator and she goes "Why won't the elevator door open?" I was thinking that she just hadn't waited longenough for it to come up from the 1st floor and replied "I don't know that's weird" And went off to do another job. Then I hear a commotion a bit later, also I was looking for Jenessa because she had the full details on the job I was doing. I go over and find Jenessa and the girl standing at the elevator. Jenessa had opened the outside door of the elevator but the inside one wouldn't open. So I came to look at it. Yep the cord had wedged the door shut. The girl starts saying how she didn't understand how it could happen. And I was losing my patience with her (which I don't have much of) she said she put the vacuum in the elevator and then went to plug it in. Well there's your problem I thought. I just said "You plug it in first and then you hold the door open button to vacuum" "Oh" that's all she said. I think my tone surprised her because usually if I do talk to her it's nice but I usually don't. Jenessa went to go get Pam. Pam said it's happened before, but those times the elevator went down and ripped the cord out of the vacuum which is the worst case scenario. She said to shut the door and she'd call the people to come and fix it. And then guess what happened. Yep worst case scenario. It happened. The elevator went down and you heard this noise that must have been the vacuum lifting off the ground and then a crash. Pam ran downstairs to check on it. She rode the elevator back up and got stuck in it. obviously but she was able to kick the door loose and got out. I'm glad because I love Pam.
Honestly that girl is slower than the title of this post.

He could still starve, give him fish too

So you know that saying "If you give a man a fish you feed him for a day, but if you teach a man to fish you feed him for a lifetime." I'm here to tell you tht's bull crap (please excuse my language) Because taking it literally you can know how to fish, like me, but never catch anything when you do go fishing, like me. So you see that is horrible you just torture the guy with the thought of food. And he'll never get any food so you'd better at least give him a fish too.

And You can give someone the tools and the training to do something but it doesn't mean that they'll be good at it. Like me. I tried to cut my bangs with the razor Tracy gave me. Bad idea. Well they aren't that bad. but they are uneven. and kinda straight across.with one long section at the end. Oh well

this mushroom doesn't make you grow

I went to see the new Indiana Jones movie. It's very good and I highly reccomend it. It takes place in 1957 so the opening song was already out in case you were wondering.
But that's not really what I want to talk about.

The Atomic Bomb. That's what I want to talk about. In the film you get to see him survive a nuclear explosion. (I won't tell you how because it's very nifty.) It was a cool movie effect for sure. But as I was sitting there watching what the explosion did to that little town I was thinking how sad it was that we dropped those bombs on Japan.
I'm not trying to argue whether what we did was right or wrong, so please don't use my blog as your platform.
No I just think it's sad.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atomic_bombings_of_Hiroshima_and_Nagasaki
That is the information I read on it. Well I didn't only read that because it's wikipedia and can't always be trusted. But that had the most information of what I read and most of it has citations.
Anyways I think it's sad that all those people died and that so much was destroyed there.
And it leads me to another point. It's not about atomic bombings, it's just also sad.
Where I work in the mornings they give out free New York Times and sometimes I will pick one up. So I did the other day and I read 2 front page articles, one extremely sad and the other was sad but had a good side to it.
The first one I read was about genecide in South Africa. Apparently some of the native South Africans hate immigrants and have taken to beating and killing them, leaving their bodies in the streets. As I was reading this I wondered what possesses people to do these acts. It's horrible. And why do humans hate other humans simply because they are from a different country. The people feel like the immigrants cause too many problems and take their jobs, so they beat them to death. 50 have been killed already and many others hurt. Scenes like the one below aren't uncommon. Dead people lieing in the street.

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/20/world/africa/20safrica.html?_r=1&oref=slogin
(I don't know if this will work the link because I tried to go to it again and it said I needed a membership so sorry if it doesn't work.)
Now you may be thinking that I am a hypocrite but I don't hate immigrants. I hate that some come here illegally, but I don't hate the people. I'm definately not against immigration just against breaking the law. And I wouldn't beat people just because they are from another country.
I also wonder about the government in these countries and how they can let this happen. Aren't they suppossed to be protecting the people of the country, even if they have immigrated? It just doesn't make sense to me. It seems to me that no matter where you go on the earth people are people. Different areas have different cultural things but basically all humans are the same right? So why do people kill other people just because they immigrated? I guess the bigger question is when will people look past where you are from and see what's on the inside?

I don't know it's just very sad. And these genecide killings seem to happen a lot in Africa. It seems like that kind of thinking should have died with the dinosaurs, which is to say it whouldn't have even been with humans in the first place.
So the second article I read was abou the earthquake in China and how the chinese people are rising up to give aid to the victims. It was really very cool to read. I guess the Chinese government doesn't usually allow it's people to give aid in the ways they are now. They like to keep everything under the microscope you know. But they are allowing their people to give back and help. Just ordinary civilians are heading to the epi-center of the quake and offering what they can. And I think that's cool. I guess Colbert would give them a tip of the hat. So do I. It just goes to show how there is still goodness in the hearts of people.

The quake was real sad news though. I mean I knew it had happened, but the continuing news of the death toll rising and the number of people without homes. It makes me wish I had a passport or something so I could go help. I read nline about this church that was destroyed just after some weddings had taken place there and they were taking pictures when the photographer felt a quake. He told everyone to run and continued to take pictures of the destruction of the church in the quake. It was sad. I saw before and after pictures and that church was beautiful and really old. And after words it looked like the ruins King Luie lived in in The Jungle Book.
This is kind of a depressing post. Sorry.

bah

so I work at the MTC. It's good. People always ask me about Tom. It's funny.
Also I work in the HRCB doing custodial. I found out this morning that if I got a degree in Physical Facilities or something like that I could start out making 70K to 100K+ a year. That would be sweet. Its not just janitorial stuff I would need to know it's like how to fix AC and lights and other things so It could be interesting and way easy and then I would be rolling in the dough too...just another path to ponder I guess. I suppose I should have really thought out my futre before I went away to college but things change I guess...
so I need another job I'm open from 9-2 everyday so if you know of any... let me know k And I don't have a car so if I could take a bus or my bike that would be total sweetness. I'm in Provo. And I need a job that pays really well too. So please keep these things in mind...
bah I need to sleep I get up at 430 to go to my custodial job...
